From the story circle

A photograph is a beginning, not an answer.

Why the album leaves names and dates open when the evidence is not there yet.

The fourteen photographs in the community album are shared with the owner’s permission. Their initial captions describe visible details. They do not establish who each person is, when the picture was taken or where an event happened.

A useful contribution can be small: the words on a shirt, a note on the back of a print, or an explanation of how you recognise an occasion. Say whether you were there, heard the story from someone else or found a written record. Those are different kinds of evidence.

The archive team can follow up privately. A reviewed public note should explain what changed without exposing a contributor’s contact details.
