Assan Sarr’s chapter states that a family from Katchang settled along the Suwareh Kunda Creek on the Miniminiyang bolong in the second half of the nineteenth century and founded Kerewan. The chapter also describes a continuing historical relationship around ancestral land and alkalo appointment. [sarr-kerewan]
This is a scholarly historical interpretation, not a current title deed or a basis for naming living authorities. Any present land, leadership or family claim requires current, locally authorised evidence and should be treated separately from the historical account. [sarr-kerewan]
